Configuration: Turbocharged horizontally opposed 4-cylinder, DOHC 16-valve with Dual Active Valve Control System and direct fuel injection

Displacement: 1,998 cc

Mileage: 45,000–65,000 miles (verified low-mileage JDM import)

Compression ratio: 10.6:1 factory specification; verified consistent compression across cylinders

Powerful, responsive, and designed for everyday performance, the FA20DIT is an excellent replacement engine for the 2015–2021 Subaru WRX. Original accessories, turbocharger components, wiring harness, ECU, intake, exhaust, sensors, engine mounts, oil pan, fuel system, and emissions components may need to be transferred from the existing engine.

Important: Most JDM FA20DIT engines originate from right-hand-drive Subaru WRX S4 applications. JDM and North American engines may use different wiring, sensors, accessories, turbo components, fuel-system parts, and ECU calibrations. Customers must verify the VIN, transmission type, engine identification, and original configuration before purchasing. Professional installation is strongly recommended.

Fitment clarification: Although commonly called the “Impreza WRX,” the 2015–2021 model was officially sold in North America as the Subaru WRX, not the Subaru Impreza. This engine does not fit a standard naturally aspirated 2015–2021 Impreza as a direct replacement.
